I don’t know why but if I were Betty Broderick I may have lost it emotionally like she did = minus the murder part.
But I could see myself leaving ugly messages on my ex’s answering machine if he just blew me off like I no longer mattered.

However I would allow myself time to heal then move on.
Betty could have had a good life.
She was reasonably attractive and young enough to snag another man. (I think she had herself a boyfriend at the time of the murders.)
Plus she had a beautiful home in the stunning beachside community in La Jolla as well as alimony.

It's really good, and she's excellent in the part. Though she refused to simulate the weight gain, which detracted a little imo.

I just finished watching the Amanda Peet version. It's excellent! I think she gave an amazing performance. It's on Netflix right now until May 30. It's called Dirty John: Betty Broderick. She didn't really look like Broderick but I think she nailed the personality and the clothes and styles worked. Highly recommend if you're interested in the case.

+1 all true. Cheaters only think of themselves. They don't care about the pain they inflict on children.

And Linda was a young self-centered woman in her 20s with no understanding of or empathy for an older, scorned wife and mother of four children.

She clearly never regretted it, and I can't say that I blame her. But I do hope she regretted the trauma she inflicted on her poor children.

I don't know that she'd be capable of feeling guilt over what she put her kids through. Collateral damage is probably how she viewed it.

Dan should have acknowledged that it was wrong of him to lie, cheat and gaslight Betty and treat her with more respect during their divorce.
I am not saying he should have left Linda and stay w/Betty.
But he didn’t have to act like such a selfish jerk to her.
Any woman would be a little psycho if they invested so much of themselves into their marriage and then were disposed of in the manner that she was.

+1 and clearly Linda didn't give a d...amn about her own selfish behavior either.

I think the bolded is true. She was never paroled because she would not show remorse. She couldn't even fake remorse because of the profound abuse, hurt, and indignity she received from her husband and his mistress. How could she possibly be remorseful if she believed her tormentors received their just punishments? And I think other women in prison who had been victims of domestic violence like herself viewed her as a shero.

The husband would have still been alive with his beautiful howorker if he had treated his wife with a modicum of respect. How many betrayed women are looking at Betty and thinking there but for the grace of God……..
