Have they moved away from the FGLI and DEI focus that was prevalent in previous years? Curious if things have changed since the DOJ investigation.
Hard to tell - my UVA student says almost all of their friends (and friends of friends) were rejected… would need to know more about who actually got in this year to be able to tell. I doubt the university would publish those stats? They seem to be tight-lipped this cycle.
If almost all were rejected, it probably means the admission rate has dropped significantly. Just a few years ago, the admit rate was 60%. Maybe it is below 30% now??
It was 30% last year (officially). Probably half that now.
It’s 12.53% for 2026 (10% instate). https://orieladmissions.com/uva-acceptance-rate/
Not seeing where this has stats for McIntire acceptance rate? Can you paste in the language?

Stupid answer to a legit question
Actually, it’s a great answer to a rather silly question since my UVA kid had zero problems with registering for the classes he wanted. UVA is not the size of UCLA, CAL or Michigan. If you really have a problem getting into a class you want, you simply go see that prof during visiting hours and plead your case. Nine times out of ten they will work it out- and now your kid has a faculty member who might write a letter of recommendation should your kid perform well in said class.
