It’s actually a very good salary.

You could find a man with all his own teeth who makes that

For me that would be not more than 3 years off my own age if I’m a breadwinner in the relationship or marriage

I had it happen already once - a guy scolded me for having a cleaning lady and not cleaning a 3000 house myself

If he’s younger hot and really great in bed I would consider it for a short term relationship

Otherwise. I accepted I will be single in retirement in fact I plan to foster kids to feel needed and to give something away. But I won’t take a financial dependent - a cheap old low paid man who is not the father of my kids.

No way

You wouldn’t stay in a hotel like a Comfirt or Holiday Inn? Too lowbrow?

He makes more than me, so yes. But I'd say its a no for you, since we're all beneath you, your highness.

It depends how expensive your tastes are.

If you require $$ vacations, restaurants or gifts than look elsewhere.

This is about what an officer in the military makes at that age. But that man is going to "retire" in about 5-7 years (when he hits 20 years on active duty) and will then get a pension check every month that's not much less than he's currently earning. Plus, his pension has a COLA. He'll also get life insurance practically for free for the rest of his life, and he can cover you with that. Once he retires he can get a professional job paying $150K+ and double his income for the next 10 years until he retires like the rest of us at 67 and starts to draw from Social Security.

I keep meaning to calculate how much I would need to have in my retirement fund to be able to to draw $10K/month from age 55 to 90 and also cover health insurance costs. But without even checking I know it's a hell of a lot more than what I'll have saved at my high status job when I retire.

OP, what is your age, income, net worth and number of dependens? What are his? Otherwise this is an impossible question to answer.

Of course if that’s the man I grew up together and have kids, who is supporting the household in other meaningful ways - I would be more accepting of it.

If that’s a divorced dude with kids I would assume he’s looking for someone for free sex and childcare

I'm married to one, so yeah. We both make about that amount and we're doing fine.

As long as he doesn't have kids and he has a meaningful NW, sure. If he has kids and only makes $120k, I'd be out yesterday. I'd assume he's looking for a partner to help him meet his other obligations.
