Are we at the same club??? I have a 11 year old playing there. We switch practice fields every week, 4 players have stopped playing altogether because of how poor our season went. Core players have played the same position since last August. No mid or late year evaluations of any kind.

Has anyone been with a kids related effort whether school or activities that were well run? Excluding private schools with tuitions of $20K+/year. Me thinks expectations of many parents are too high.
You get what you give energy and attitude wise. We have been happy with PSA the past few years vs. Bethesda. I literally know of one kid whose family is trying to leave and we will be happy for them because they are toxic lol.

100%, a few vocally unhappy or more likely the same parent or former coaches related to a specific 2015 team.
The club is well intentioned, most staff is friendly with a couple of the director’s trying to elevate the level, the last few years. Some is working, some attempts to be more ambitious are creating friction with the laid back in the family culture.
They are a very long running community club. the comments on number of pros seems silly, while they do have DcU P2P, if you want to push your kid to be pro, go find a USL or semi-pro path and have them play up with men early. It’s More the place of high school and D3 players which fits the geography and player pool
I haven’t looked at the latest non-profit filing but they used to have more part time or volunteer roles and lower spend than other clubs. They are certainly not as effective at social media and hype. their biggest expense that stood out wis field rentals and their tournament (though that used to be a revenue gen for boys )
As for the soccer, that is highly dependent on the coach, and while I see the directors out at some game they also have teams they coach. The top tier coaches are generally competent and balanced, and there’s been fewer crazy and degrading in my experience. They try to teach build out, though I find the variance greater on the girls teams on style of play. Caveat I have not seen the lower teams as much as practices are spread out, and it seems to be mostly higher level teams at jcc and soccerplex

???? Your best player on the 2015 Girls team just accepted an offer from another club. The 2015s are the typical PSA team. Just bang average. They are not in the top division in EDP, plays 2nd teams of the big clubs, and hides in tournaments in lower tiered brackets and call themselves Champions. Just gotsoccer point chasers and play no one. Come up and play the top teams and get a dose of reality.
There is solid development and a great coach on the G2015 team. They have been steadily climbing up and have been promoted every season. Also with the age group changes……. I think they will be more than fine and will continue to provide strong development and growth for those girls. Seems like they are pretty happy as a team over there.
Yet, for some reason, the 2015G did not go to Jeff cup. Only the 2014s went.

Well, that's actually why I said I don't think most 2015 girls would leave. I didn't think they would be strong enough to make a 1st team somewhere else. I did not know the best player on the team just took an offer somewhere else, if it's who I think it is, good for her, though I like her parents so I'll miss the chats.

Complete bs. This is not our experience. It seems well run, coaches seem happy, kids are motivated and well organized. The top team is in its own category but that’s true everywhere.
