Here's the thing. DCUM hates real estate agents. To them, they're no different than used car dealers. You can't trust any of them. They're all stupid. They just want to rip you off.

Good staging will absolute help sell a house. You don't have to break the bank on it and you don't have to stage every room. But yes, done right, it will make a difference.

any recommendations for good stagers? for an empty house. and how common is it for the selling agent to cover the cost? I guess it couldn't hurt to ask them??

+1. Unless your furniture is truly awful, I would think it’s a waste of money to do staging, and 15k is crazy. We paid 2k to do staging of our condo after we vacated it and listed it when it was entirely empty and I know houses would cost more but 15k is crazy. I think staging a home is beneficial in that it can maximize its potential to prospective buyers.

It can show buyers how desirable or comfy the home can look with some creativity.
