Send him somewhere. It’ll only get worse as he gets older.

We’re engaged.

That's not a reason.

I suspect your son is not happy about having a new adult foisted into his home, and also knows that his father does not want to parent him. Those are the real problems.

ADHD Combined type.

Have had him reassessed since the violence increased? I have a child with ADHD and I seriously doubt any doctor would write off what you are describing as *only* ADHD. You definitely need more help.

Yes, he was diagnosed at six after behavioural issues at school and home, and was reassessed a year and a half ago, same result.

And, what have you been doing about it beyond getting him diagnosed?

Anonymous wrote:Kid needs some kind of inpatient place. You need him out of the house. If xDH makes threats it's clearly a setup on his part with the games. He either has to reao what he sows and keep kid or kid has to be placed elsewhere. He will kill you. Or his sibling. Or both.

The ex and the violent tween sound like peas in a pod. This will not end well for the other kid.

Ex began accusing me of cheating and became physically abusive. On the third occasion, he hit both me and our toddler. I called the police and left immediately. He then stalked and followed me for months, forcing me to call the cops repeatedly. He threatened me and my family, showed up at my job, and harassed my siblings and parents.

Have Dad take the child for awhile even though he does not want him full time.

This is not a police issue nor a hospitalization issue. That's not what will fix this. And, there is a very specific threshold to hospitalization, especially a young child.
