The world has been in decline since people started competing on Facebook and then on Instagram. It got worse when Twitter went anonymous and allowed people to be openly bigoted. Then our media realized how profitable it is to feed anger and hate.

Now our youngest generations of women are addicted to emotional validation from beautiful people on TikTok and Shorts. Maybe this last part was because of Covid.

It went to s##t because people came out in the open about their ageist, ableist views like this. Finding out how many around consider imperfect or older people as disposable an in the way was an eye opener. I respond accordingly. No gofundme donations for them. More directed philanthropy. And frankly I don't care about my "community" anymore because 40% are like that. Do U?


I don't think people are disposable, but we can't restructure our entire society to protect a small number of people by sacrificing everyone else. Reasonable accomodations can be made, but you can't expect us to just move everyone to WFH and kids to remote learning.

Everything doesn't have to be more expensive and sh*t but here we are. Corporations could have just had fewer profits for a few years, CEOs could have bought one less yacht or taken one less luxury vacation. But here we are.

I know people that feel the same, but are vehemently against the current administration. FTR, most in both parties supported some form of Covid restrictions and it was the individual Universities (not a party) that imposed the most egregious ones. Some schools had more and some had less and they were more reflective of the age the people making the decisions. I also suggest that being a one issue voter is not going to help you to move forward especially since that one issue is further out with each year. Look to the future and figure out what kind of society would like to have - then make decisions based on that.


The one issue isn’t Covid, but the judgement, ability to admit fault and learn from mistakes of the entrenched power structure of our society.

So was I in 9/11 and still broke in 2009. You go through few of those cycles before your turn comes.
2009 was by far the worst. Even minimum wage jobs were not available. Now you can work 3 of them.


Thats why it's worse now. The "jobs" we had were resl jobs. Now those minimum wage jobs are just gigs. You didn't need to work 3 of them. Maybe 2.

If you told me that large companies would rely on their workers using government Healthcare instead of providing an option for their employees so they could fatten their bottom line, i would have thought you were crazy then.


"Working 3 jobs" was a political cartoon joke in 1995.

Employer-funded health care has been a disaster since it was implemented as a tax dodge and a workaround to a (Democrat) government crackdown on wages during WW II.
