I’d recommend seeing Kentuck Knob. In some ways we liked it better than Falling Water.

Massanutten is also fun!

Southern Maryland (by St. Mary's) is underrated and there is no bay bridge traffic.

Shepherdstown/Harpers Ferry is a neat getaway (especially in the Fall or summer).

This is not a whole vacation but if you've never taken your little kids here you're missing out. My kids are in their twenties and still talk about this place:
