Otherwise you'll waste a lot of emotional energy attending events not because you truly want to be there, but because you're hoping you'll magically find a man there. Let me tell you, the men you meet out in the wild are no different from the ones you meet online. Well, the exception would be those men who are very able to ensnare women with their looks, money, and charm and who enjoy that chase. Those guys don't need to bother with OLD. But the men you'll met IRL tend to be even worse than the ones online. You have no way of screening them objectively before accepting a coffee date or sharing your number. (And don't give out your real number to men in the wild! Make a Google number for these purposes!) Dating men you meet IRL is way riskier than OLD. You want to be able to vet him online before investing any energy. When you meet IRL you skip right over all the screening and develop a crush or at least get excited about the man before you know anything about him other than that he's good looking and wears an expensive watch. Prospect on OLD, get their phone number as quickly as possible, search it, and then go from there. You will have to screen out hundreds and hundreds of men this way and wait a long time to find someone worthwhile. But it will give you access to those men you're hoping to meet by chance at some dance class.

This is true. A good educated, high earning men would care a lot about your performance in bed. You keep him happy there and he will keep you happy in everything else. It is actually that simple. Women who are going to argue about this are probably bad in bed or have lost all sex drive or interest with their partners. Their relationship is done and if they are still in it, then it will be done soon.

To answer your last paragraph, my two nephews are mid 30s and marriage minded. Both have dated and lived with women. But they want to make it a formal commitment and also be fathers. Is that desperate? I'm sure tired of dating is part of it.
