This just isn't true. UF grads have great employment options in NYC and other major job hub areas, on par with UNC and UT.
Some posters on this board post a lot of false statements about Florida because they hate DeSantis and hate that Florida went for Trump.
? TX and NC also went for Trump, and a lot of posters hate Abbott, too.
This board is particularly hostile towards Florida. I think it’s just a small number of very active posters, but it’s noticeable.
Perhaps there’s jealousy?
Yes, we are jealous of the diploma mill which educates a large chunk of its undergrads via online class. The joke is on the non Florida residents who actually pay tuition for that.
And your kid applied to Rutgers? You’d fit in well in NJ lol Jersey shore mom
Look, I found another UF alum and they are equally as stupid as Biondi.
I’m not a UF alum and I’m a liberal. I’d choose UF over Rutgers 10/10 times. Rutgers is a dump.

Their kids didn't get in. No school in the country offers a stronger mix of academics, sports, and FUN than the University of Florida. None!
Nope I am alumni actually generational alumni.
Our families had given millions and millions to the school.
Not any more. DeStantis ruined the school. Never again will my money be used for anything at UF.
Shands used to be world renowned now it's garbage.
No companies are recruiting .... . except for crappy FL ones.

Jealous of all the amazing flagships their kid didn’t get in like UF and UGA.
UF, UT-Austin, UVA harder admits than UGA though
In the grand scheme of things, the difference is meaningless. Stop being obtuse.
Just saying those schools are on a different level than UGA. Especially UT-Austin and UVA. UGA slightly beneath UF.
That’s total bullshit

+1 I think that poster is a troll. Anyone that gave millions wouldn’t be taking out their grievances on DCUM. If this really is their outlet, they’re dumb and UF ignores them for a reason.

ok, but I'm sure UT and UNC students also loved their experience and have gotten into medical schools.
The question is: which one has the best alumni network. In order of strong alumni network: UT, UNC, UF

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Those are all quality flagship schools, I would go for the cheapest coa. Personally I would rank them UNC, UT, UF in terms of "perceived" prestige.
FWIW all those schools are party schools if that is your thing. UF was known for many years for its ready supply of illegal drugs as well as the usual alcohol. I think that perception has changed but who knows....here is a 1982 "typical" day time throwdown at UF!!!!!!!!!!!! Do these look like top shelf scholar types?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F78XV6fjxCE
You could step off the short bus into any of those schools in 1982. Even Ivies like Penn had a 50% acceptance rate then. And while they've gotten orders of magnitude more selective since then, they're all still massive party schools. Check out Franklin St in Chapel Hill right after the Heels beat Duke in basketball. Those students in that moment aren't going to look like "top shelf scholar types" either. UF can hold its own against UT-Austin and UNC. They're all equally elite.
Exactly. We're talking about how those three schools are elite peers now, not what the college admissions landscape looked like in 1982!
Even now, no one perceives UF to be a peer of UNC or UT. It’s a tier below with UGA.
UF, UNC, UT, UGA are all amazing flagships in 2026. Take your crap somewhere else, you’re not needed here. DP
