It’s not conceited- it’s a fact. Swimming is based on times and if they are a AAAA swimmer with national level cuts I think it’s a fair assessment to call them a top swimmer in a HS District meet.

You just don't need to say it, especially when there are other people on here who's kid is faster than yours.

It's pretty fair. Basically in practice 16 kids make Regionals from the Patriot District and 8 from National in each event. Why run Districts all over again so that 17th place at Patriot can swim Regional prelims?

I hear you. I can think of a few examples of things that work like this in this area, outside of sports. I can see the argument in both directions. I like the way the NVSL works, where the fastest kids across all Divisions advance to IAS vs the top kids from each Division. Would be great if HS swim worked this way too. But I also acknowledge that that means some pools/schools have zero or almost no kids that get the chance to swim at the higher -level meets.

I think they mean their HS is part of the National District that feeds into region 6c (Occoquan).
