And also compare the situation to plenty of other times in history. In 2026 in the US, it’s reasonable to expect your children to survive to adulthood. This wasn’t true even 2-3 generations ago. We have antibiotics. Most of us are not starving to death. We don’t live in an active war zone (at present).
So I recommend staying informed, but limit time online, volunteer, count your blessings, and focus on other things, too.
All of things you say happened 2-3 generations ago could very easily start happening again when you have an incompetent and fascist regime taking over. So yes take care of your family and live but also be aware-pay attention and just because you feel comfortable and safe in your little bubble doesn't mean every one in our country is that fortunate. We need to pay attention and stand up to what is happening to our country and the people in it....otherwise who will save you and your family when it comes for you.
