My child is at a "pure" art school that has not been named here (and I won't name). He has loved his experience. He is currently working with industry professionals within his degree area on his internship while taking classes. He does put in incredibly long hours. He has said that for his major, about half the kids change majors or drop out after freshman year and another half of those who remain leave after sophomore year. He also reports that most of his classmates either don't come to class often, don't do their work, or otherwise turn in garbage. I have no idea how accurate that is. But on the flip side, he's a hard worker and shows up all the time and therefore he's getting lots of attention from professors.
