How is it that Biden and Obama were able to detain and deport millions without the conflict we are seeing today? What changed?

no one has issues with law enforcement carrying out their duties. however...
1) law enforcement should be identified as such, badge, ID and not having their faces covered
2) operating under normal terms of engagement, not as a paramilitary force
3) effecting actual warrants, not as a gestapo
4) apologizing when they get it wrong, like they did when they murdered a mom for no reason, or for the countless detentions of actual US born citizens or naturalized citizens

You know, when law enforcement is acting within the boundaries of the Constitution, otherwise, when acting illegally, they should be hampered in their "mission" because they are acting outside the law.
