I find that all SLACs look the same. They all blend right into each other.

They really don’t. How many have you visited?

Many. It’s ok if you don’t agree. We’re allowed to have our own opinions.

University of Colorado. I'm sure Colorado College is a great school, but give me Boulder over Colorado Springs by a large margin. (Ditto for Fort Collins and Colorado State.)

The best description I have seen of the Springs: it’s like Portland Oregon and Birmingham Alabama had a baby. Spot on!

I’m glad I missed the conception stage of that child.

Nice tents though.

Completely agree.

Really? You think Colorado College looks like Swarthmore?

I take this list as serious as USNWR's other rankings, which is not very much. That said, here are my favorite campuses:

UCLA
UC Santa Cruz
Pomona
Scripps
Williams
Swarthmore
Dartmouth
Smith

Honorable mention: Lewis & Clark, Colorado, Texas, and Washington. The last three are less about campus beauty than having a fun campus/town vibe.

I think the setting is pleasant and weather is great, but I would agree that overall architecture and plan is not distinguished.

Just looked at the Wikipedia photos of both U Montana & Montana State. U Montana's campus is beautiful, well laid out, in a great setting, and appears to be the more attractive of the two.

Visiting an empty campus in the summer can be misleading. Also, I imagine that we were tired & probably stressed from other factors.
