OP, if your kid is recruitable by Lafayette you might want to try the top NESCACs. Similar level of athletics but much stronger academics and IB placement.

Nonsense, Middlebury now places better than Amherst and nearly as well as Williams. No difference at all in their on campus recruiting. There are no threads on either school having seen better days in IB. Keep trying, you just look foolish.
+1, people here suck the teat of Amherst because it has a ton of grade inflation and an open curriculum so a ton of their alumni go to law school. It’s not leading lacs in finance these days. Great school but overrated.

Faculty publications do not equate with job placements. This list is meaningless.
I doubt it's a coincidence that prominent Wall Street and IB feeder schools such as Claremont McKenna, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury and Hamilton place highly in the analysis.
CMC, Middlebury and Hamilton are not feeder schools for Wall Street/IB. Stop with the boosting and get real.
Your post is a great example of “how you feel” vs “what is real”. Hamilton places decently and CMC and Middlebury are top 10 schools for IB placement, placing better than half of the Ivy League.

Your kid will be fine if he goes to Lafayette. Take math courses and work on networking skills. Get his first internship at home (easier) and then try for NYC with a line on the resume.
