I liked that Colgate's bookstore in town is owned and operated by the university. So many universities outsource the bookstore to Barnes and Nobles College these days, including The Coop at Harvard.

Not a bookstore, but we did a tour of Penn State and I was drooling over its library because they had just-released fiction hardbacks right at the entrance. I would love to have a library like that, but alas we live in DC.

For nice campus bookstores, look to Kenyon and Hamilton. For a variety of nearby bookstores, look to Berkeley and Cambridge.
