I think I know who this is - someone in politics/entertainment who Dartmouth would absolutely want to speak on campus. I normally think people overestimate who a VIP parent is, but in this case, I think it counts.

DD got flat rejected. I expected a deferral, frankly. 4.0 UW all advanced/AP classes at NJ public. 1550 and 35 (one and done on both), all 5s on APs. Strong but not exceptional XCs and essays. Oh well. Their loss.
