Lowell treats its teachers terribly. Sorry, but it is not a "great community." When we were there, we witnessed administration acting in perplexing and inappropriate ways toward teachers, parents, and students-- and there seemed to be few consequences for serious bullying. Suggest you choose another school.

I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I haven’t seen anything like you describe. We still highly recommend!

Lowell covers up abuse and punishes victims.

Thoughts on these options? Am I missing any? We're not interested in parochial or K-12s.

Thanks!

Don’t go to CES! Poor lower school and the parking lot has been a construction site for going on three years now with no end in sight!

Anonymous wrote:One more for WES. We are so happy there and agreed about so many people being local to CC/Bethesda/Spring valley which makes play dates easier. Many Concord families end up at WES after they age out and my sense of things is that the communities and values are similar. I can’t speak to other schools on the list. Good luck!

One word of caution on WES - the grades are small, so the cohort matters a lot. WES has had some challenges with certain grades - gender balance issues, challenging social dynamics, mass departures, etc. The school does not seem to manage the cohort and grade dynamics as proactively as some other schools.

Grace is focused solely on elementary without distractions or pressures from MS and HSs. Everything is designed around the most important years pre-adolescents. It’s actually focused on what’s good for kids based on science rather than what DMV culture thinks is important. It’s a gem.
