Nothing matters once an entity develops ASI.

is that really AI or just pure Google search? Nothing intelligent hereAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Go pre-med, then med school and get a job in emergency medicine in a big city.
You have AI proofed yourself.
I could see ER docs being replaced by AI algorithms telling technicians and mid levels what to carry out. There will be a need for healthcare roles, but there will be less need for high level expensive MD education, except for a few to oversee operations. Much of medicine is algorithmic nowadays.
Last 2 times my kids needed Urgent Care or ER, AI gave a more detailed and thoughtful diagnosis - and in one case, the doctor was flat out wrong but AI got it right...

That's the best we can do for them.

That’s rough. I’m aware there are millions that don’t have a choice. There are also a few that skip college because they are motivated geniuses. Kids of most people lurking here are neither too poor nor geniuses. You can pick on each on every argument like hormonal teenager, but the fact of the matter remains the same - college is great if one can afford and paying too much for it even when you can afford is moronic.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:You can’t beat college experience as part of learning to be an adult. There are hundreds of similar aged kids from different backgrounds around you navigating different challenges and celebrating successes. Should one pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for college is a different question and the answer to that is a NO. Anyone that tells you that going to an elite undergrad school is a must for future success is a moron. Grad schools are a different story.
The only experience that can beat college (playing at being an adult with many guardrails) is actually living as an independent adult. Lots of high school graduates jump right in.
