Sounds like OP and spouse need to have a more depth talk. It gets tiring finding every snack having just a few crumbs left.

This is OP. He does things that are such more annoying that I can’t believe he brings this up. This is so very minor compared to his flaws.

Maybe he was having a bad day and seeing only 5 nuts in a 24 oz canister made he lash out.

Or do you always leave crumbs in containers for others?

How could he possibly be having a bad day? Other than grocery shopping and dinner prep, he has zero responsibilities. I handle the bills, investments, taxes, housecleaning, yard work, even the holiday cards, plus work full time.

Thank god you two dont have kids

We do have offspring- they are adults

Probably not but if this is the worst thing that your spouse does to you - then you are much better off than 98% of the people on this forum! 👍🏽

Just out the remnants in a tiny container and throw out big one. That’s better for everyone and every reason.

Team OP. I'm not going to eat more nuts than I want just because the can is almost empty. In fact I like knowing those couple of extra are there for later so I don't gorge on a new container.

If he’s retired and has. Nothing to do he needs to get the f out of the house every day and do something real.

We had an argument about it.

Did you throw the container at his head?

I think if you share food with others it’s probably courteous to leave at least one serving of nuts in the container.

But here’s the thing: a serving of nuts is actually small - 1/4 cup or ~28g. It’s not huge and overeaters would probably be mad that’s all that is left but it’s a healthy serving size of a calorie dense high fat snack.

And this thread makes me very grateful to be a singleton living with an adoring dog. I feel sorry for people whose lives are eaten up by this kind of petty crap.
