What? They've always been great.
I think people here are first starting to realize that New England isn’t the only place with liberal arts colleges. Especially since conversations here are so heavy on Williams Amherst swat- occasionally Davidson.
This is an absurd take. Amherst and Williams take up most of the oxygen on this board because most participants are prestige whores. Has nothing to do with them being in New England. The 5CC, especially Pomona and CMC are right there behind them in terms of attention. Middlebury also gets an unwarranted amount of attention but I think that’s because there’s one parent who hates it and one who loves it, and they love to take over threads with their fights. Weird that you think Davidson gets a lot of attention. I think all of the “13s” are sort of under appreciated gems. Probably better for all of them that they fly under the radar here. It’s the Midwest schools that really don’t get the attention they deserve. Carlton, Grinnell, and Mac should all get more love than they do.

Try saying a bad thing about Davidson on this board and see what happens- especially when you mention Greek life. Williams and Amherst take up oxygen because they’re in New England- this board hardly speaks of Swat.
most of the people on this board don't have kids smart enough to go to swat ... no shame, just facts.
You have to be interested in intellectualism to be interested in Swarthmore, not just be chasing $$$ and prestige.

So he can’t let his ego get out of the way of his administration. Much prefer Hiram chodosh.
I've met them both and like them both. Roth is great as is Chodosh. Unfortunately Chodosh announced that this year is his last and he's leaving CMC. Not sure who will replace him so that's a big question mark.
In these political times, strong principled university president leadership is critical.
That is too bad that CMC is losing Hiram Chodosh (who is btw a Wes alum and has a law degree from Yale). Will be interested to see what he does next.
As much as people like to split hair on these two schools (or any other LACs), they are more alike than different.
