Something like an Escalade would be such a pain to drive in the DC area. It's far too big to be practical. Turns, corners, parking, garages, buses, cyclists, pedestrians, narrow streets, and narrow lanes, and all with the limited visibility that will kill a kid.

It's meant for tanning salon owners in Indiana.

I can afford one (or many). But it's bad for the environment and dangerous to others in a collision. Most of the planet agrees with me. And yes, most of the planet can't afford those types of vehicles, but it doesn't change the fact that they're not the right choice if you're an informed and caring citizen.

I love big SUVs. I'm trying to protect my family from other bad drivers, truckers, etc. Give me the biggest vehicle so we have more chances of surviving.

You get used to it after a few days, then you can't live without the space, comfort, and view of the road. Navigating parking lots is still annoying, sometimes, but not enough to give up the space, comfort, and view of the road.

I drive a big black Suburban and would absolutely love an Escalade. They're practical and safe and bad ass. Go for it!!! I would drive one in a heartbeat to work, school, kids sports etc.

UMC status rig in flyover country, so your wife can flex on all the other moms driving Tahoes. On the coasts it’s an Uber and airport shuttle.

A lot of it is shrew spinsters and women who only have 1 or 2 kids because they started too late. Big new luxury SUV = affluent with lots of kids, likely Catholic or Mormon.
