Then what? A wider margin of victory for Walkinshaw?
Walkinshaw is projected to have won by a lot.

How was this a surprise to you or anyone???
It was a surprise because MAGA morons and women voted for Republicans when they knew they were criminal tratiors and liars.

He starts as soon as he’s sworn in, reportedly tomorrow. That’s the point of the special election. Then he runs again next November when everyone else runs.
He didn't hear from Johnson yet, but he believe he will be sworn in tomorrow. We had 2 special elections this session and they were both sworn in the next day, but they were both Republicans.
Walkinshaw ought to be sworn in tomorrow. Why wouldn’t he be?
Because the Republicans in Congress no longer care about anything but protecting their own power and they make up rules as they go. Johnson shut down the house early to avoid dealing with Epstein files.
I’ve been out this morning - has he been sworn in yet?

Sounds like someone has the 11th congressional seat confused with the school board.
Not at all. The Dems in NOVA run the SB, a supposedly neutral body. The party in VA is responsible.
I will always take Dems running education over Republicans and BS like Prager U or Tuttle Twins or trying to force Christianity in schools. I moved here for schools and am very happy.

Anonymous wrote:I just don’t trust anonymous forums these days. Connelly was a very popular representative in a blue district. I don’t see it turning Republican in a special election. There was good participation in the primary, even if the safe vs the best candidate won. I don’t see voters in NOVA sitting it out. It’s more likely anonymous bots or instigators are trying to paint a picture of division and distrust.
