Both kids were picked up by parents. Not sure about “ teeth being kicked out” but I assume if a kid had a mouthful of bloody teeth they would have gone straight to hospital.
I have been told by my 6th grade DD that an ambulance and cop cars were there last Friday. Also, my DD said , she saw staff clean the blood stains. The 8th grader also used her water bottle in the attack.
I know the principal is wonderful. That being said an email should have gone out on Friday night itself. Also, more details of the incident should have been stated in the email. I know the whole school is shaken up by this incident. espeically, the innocent 6 th graders.
The victim will probably not be at school for a long time. Frankly speaking, there is so much trauma that I would not return to the school. We have gotten forwards about contributing to gift baskets/cards for the child.

Anonymous wrote:It's an unfortunate situation. This comes down to parenting. Be accountable and own your responsibility of raising your child. Dr. Jones is fair and has indeed been there for years. In cases like these where you are a parent, it would be a fair ask to inform us about the type of punishment issued to make us feel more at ease and confident in the system. Not knowing leaves everyone curious, scared, infuriated, etc.

This wasn't a fight. This was an attack, and I hope those parents press charges and sue MCPS.
If the parents are reading this, I truly hope your child is ok, and I'm sorry they/you went through this. There is no excuse for this behavior, and that attacker needs to be thrown out of MCPS, as your child should be safe at school.
My kids went to Frost a few years ago and we thought the principal was excellent. He’s been there a long time.
It’s not his fault - and I do hope they sue the aggressor’s parents and remove him. But please don’t lump this principal in the mess that is MCPS.
New principal this year.

(Recall the incident at BCC several years ago where an older student smashed a chair onto the head of a younger student.)
Just for the record, the BCC student who smashed the chair onto the head of a younger student graduated on time with his BCC classmates, who gave a massive cheer when his name was called at the graduation ceremony. And to be clear, this wasn't the first incident by the chair-smasher. (My DC was in the same class, 2022.)
I'm not an MCPS hater but given that track record, I'm skeptical that there will be any meaningful consequences for a violent sixth grader.
For sure. The parents need to sue the other family. Imagine your child needing implants at age 12. That’s a lifetime of mouth and tooth problems. Family should be required to pay tens of thousands per year
Families who raise children to brutality assault and batter smaller children for no reason usually don't accumulate much wealth.
This is a wealthier school. Often wealthy parents are no better and not supervise their kids as their lives come first. Lets be real.

Are you new to MCPS? Or new to MS? There are similar fights at pretty much every MS in this county on a regular basis.
DP. I am not new to anything. This was not a fight. Or a similar fight, whatever that means.
o need to downplay what appears to be a very serious incident.
I would press charges against this student and sue for all medical and dental and associated PTSD damages.
Let's see if this MS student is suddenly "reassigned" and shows up at a school near you.
As a parent there is no way I'd send my kid back to a school where they were violently assaulted and if I had a 6th grader there I'd be very concerned of them going there at all.

For calling a girl a bad name after she and her friends decided to harass me out of the blue during archery. All of us were white. At least two of us were affluent. I hadn't had any interaction with the girls before that day. I found Frost to be a nasty place and was glad to move away. The girls who picked on me were suspended. I did not get punished because I didn't start it and I didn't hit anyone.
Maybe the school's too big and impersonal and it brings out the worst in kids.

DCUM doesn’t find that upsetting because the physical aggressor was white. Stop sharing stories that don’t confirm their belief that W feeders were tranquil bastions of education when they were lily-white.
Just ask to edit your story so that the physical aggressor is well-melaninated, overage, wearing an ankle monitor, already of mom of two, and possibly undocumented. Then, you’ll have DCUM’s attention. Add that the bad name was the n word before she punched you and DCUM will fist-pump.
I don't care what race either child is. Thie assailant should not be allowed back in public.

MCPS can meet their obligation to provide a free education at Ewing. If the parents don't like it, they can pay for private where ever the child is accepted. There needs to be real consequences for actions like this.
I hope the 6th grade parents speak out. Share what happened and what consequences MCPS provided.

MCPS is only liable for what it could reasonably have done. Need to sue the parents of the attacker
