When I was growing up, people actually worked 9-5:30. Nobody would DARE schedule practices at 5 freakin o’clock on a weekday.
And RTO is a joke. Of anything, people are going into the office LESS than before 1/20!!
I guess I feel the opposite. 9-5:30 is a pretty late schedule for east coast workers. I have a lot of 7-3:30 or 8-4:30 coworkers. 8 seems to be the latest that most people get to the office.
We're sports coaches. 5-6pm is the preferred time for nearly everyone. 6-7pm doesn't work for elementary aged kids because they're starving (some don't eat before the 5-6pm practice as they're coming right from aftercare), tired from the day, and it's not enough time to get them to dinner, baths, and bed afterwards. We'd love 5:30-6:30, but field times don't run like that.
When I was growing up, everything happened in the middle of the day and all the SAMHs would come to it. Dads weren't ever invited and didn't participate. I was shocked when my mom said my birthday parties were always on a weekday in the middle of the day because that's when preschool parties were. Dads didn't attend.
I agree with you about FCPS half days. That should be outlawed. Schedule a full day off!
