its not just that- the whites these days do a lot of drugs, dress in sloppy athliesure, talk at the top of their lungs, have multiple partners and fatherless kids they can't afford and are very conversant with social service benefits. I am not white and I'd love to live in a community of any color if the families had 2 (just 2!) parents, people were not inebriated, were employed basically- miss piggle wiggles town would suit me right down to the ground!

Nowhere is perfect OP. You have explore yourself. VA is hard. To me, it's culturally too stuck up for the most part. There's scenic small towns, expensive ones, politically leaning ones and ones that are more rural in scope. But none I think that are scenic, relaxed, middle of the road and affordable all. Not a one.

Sounds amazing. I just out west on vacation in a small town that fits OPs requirements and it was soooooooo relaxing and delightful. People were nice, doors left unlocked. A-maz-ing.
