From the job posting:
Requires exceptional flexibility; schedule will be unpredictable and driven by the superintendent's daily activities and security needs.
Must be available for irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, travel, and extended on-call duty.
Travel? Travel?
All that for 90K?

It’s basically to have someone with her on all of her school visits, etc.
Wonder if it comes with a vehicle? Glorified chauffeur?
She’s already driven everywhere.
THIS IS A LIE. I’m a principal and my colleagues and I have all had her at our schools. No one drives Michelle Reid anywhere (except maybe her husband who accompanied her to a Saturday event at our school last fall). We have regular meetings with her and see her in the parking garage getting out of her car alone.
I don’t agree with everything she does, and you don’t have to either. But you don’t get to post straight-up lies.
As for a security person, I have no problem with it. The new head of security is a former Secret Service member. My guess is that this coming from him based on credible threats and/or incidents. I’ve done more “no trespass” letters in the last several years than in ten previous years combined. People are unhinged.

Otherwise it feels like part of a manufactured narrative that Reid and the School Board are courageous public servants just trying to do their jobs in the face of threats from rabid, uncivilized parents. The irony is that people absolutely want them to do their jobs, just with integrity and competence.
Former Attorney General Merrick Garland, identified parents who speak at school board meetings as threats serious enough to warrant FBI involvement.
Yes, parents opposed to stupid school policies were in his eyes domestic terrorists.
Nope, that wasn’t true.

We have a smaller budget and less staff thanFCPS so it might not be her choice. I am not a Reid fan but this might be not something hung she can control.
This is not the norm. Is your business healthcare insurance? Planned parenthood? She is superintendent of schools. Wouldn’t it be public if there are threats requiring holiday and travel protection?

If you're that unpopular in a Dem friendly county....maybe its a sign to hang it up.
1,000,000 people with 30% being Trump nuts. That’s 300,000 Trump nuts. It only takes 1. I’m sorry math is hard for you MAGA types.
