You are the worst type of tourist. The creative/off the beat on path jerks who think they are so original while ruining different places while they try to blend in with the locals. You are still a tourist.

Nope. Wherever we go we make a point of not being a “tourist.”

But you are a tourist. You really think the locals like people like you? People who stay in Airbnb’s instead of hotels? Flood areas where only locals used to hang out?

This. La-di-fricking-da!!! “Living like locals” is trashy and just pretentious. Nobody cares and nobody is impressed.

I don’t stay in Airbnb’s

Ah, yes. Not one of the 63 US national parks, nor NYC are great American destinations. It’s funny how many foreign visitors flock to these very locations. Be sure to tell them they’re doing it wrong.

You are completely ridiculous.

I know everyone here trashes Myrtle, but have you actually been? There are hotels, motels, beach rentals, and really nice parts of Myrtle. It's the #1 place in the country to move for a reason. There is the beach, mini golf, go karts, etc. It's a fun place time. There's plenty of restaurants too. I don't get the hate.

OP’s vacation consists of trips out of mommy’s basement to the kitchen for beer and chips.

Bethany is hardly aspirational. But it’s family friendly, nostalgic for people from the area, and you can drive there. Works for me.

Imaginative travel experiences for the discerning traveler
Adventure and exploration
Antarctic Expedition: Explore the icy wonders of Antarctica on a luxury cruise, kayaking through fjords and encountering penguins and whales in their natural habitats.
African Safari on Horseback: Experience the thrill of a safari from a unique perspective, riding alongside wildlife in Africa's stunning landscapes.
Heli-Skiing in Chile: Take your skiing to new heights with a heli-skiing adventure in the Andes mountains of Chile.
Dive into Raja Ampat: Explore the magical underwater world of Raja Ampat, Indonesia, a diver's paradise with incredible biodiversity.
Explore Recently Discovered Caves in Mexico: Embark on a cave exploration adventure in a Mexican cavern, discovering hidden geological wonders.

OP here. I wouldn’t go to Antarctica. Too fragile of an environment and I care about the planet. Plus there are no people with whom to interact.

We went on a Safari about a decade ago which was cool

Spent months in Chile and know the country from top to bottom

Not a fan of caving. Tried it once and no thanks.

Diving sounds cool

Hahah, imagine stating the need to travel far off locales to “interact with the locals” and build your travel dilettante resume while simultaneously claiming to “care about the planet”

Now we know you’re a troll, no one can be this ridiculous. Well played.
