If your kid got into college already what were they told?

my great-grandfather's was "if it's free, take two." my grandma's was "eating is serious business." I think it's possible to make a good OR a terrible college essay out of either--and out of just about any other mantra--but it has to be something the kid wants to write about and there has to be a way for it to say something about the kid. After all, the *family* is not going to college.

Tough part about working with a CCO is you really have to go with what they say. They are all about getting the best out of your child. It was hard for me but I did it and DD got into Northwestern. No direct correlation there, just bragging.
