Same. I was born in 1975 and most of my ES photos from the first day of school (day after Labor Day), I was wearing jeans or long pants. The hot weather just seems to last longer and I want my beautiful fall back!

2012 was bad. We had evenings that didn't cool off. It stayed over 80F the whole night.
2011 was worse than 2012. Remember the “sweat ceiling” (a play on the Debt Ceiling debacle at the time that led to sequestration).
The difference this year is the consistency. Just relentless humidity.
We will finally get a break this week, though.

I’ve lived here for 14 years and I free. I don’t know why people have this amnesia about summer here. It’s ALWAYS hot and sticky with an afternoon storm . The one summer I actively recall being vastly different was 2013 because it rained CONSTANTLY. I had a 3 year old and we could never go to the pool. Besides that and the summer with the derecho, none of these summers are outside the norm.
It’s great that you’re free. I’m sure your ex was a real pain. But what’s that got to do with the weather?

Even since that first Trump presidency the weather has been ruined. Did Trump steal the weather for his golf courses?

+1 the rain/storms are out of control. And the humidity. Apart from the heat wave in June, temps so far have been typical. It’s normal to have highs around 90 this time of year and that’s what we’ve had recently.
I remember a very rainy summer a few years ago, I think 2018? We would have days of relatively cool rain and raining all day. The mosquitoes were out of control that summer. And then it stayed weirdly warm and humid until we had an abrupt weather pattern change in mid-October.

I mind the mosquitoes most of all. I can't wait for genetic mosquito control everywhere, not just in California and Florida hotspots, so that we don't get cancer from spraying.
The heat, the humidity, are all hard to bear. But the worst are the mosquitoes.
Mosquitos fill a vital role in our ecology.
