His mother is in a skilled nursing facility right now and is very medically fragile. The nursing facility is allowing her to go on the overnight, but a stomach virus could likely put her in the hospital.

He sounds like either a selfish ass or an idiot or both.

Do his family members know about his exposure? He’s most certainly contagious.

I hope he’s told everyone on the trip about his exposure and given them a chance to tell him not to come. Gross.

How old is your son?

OP here, I'm not bored. This is real life. - "night shift" = he stayed with DS all night while I slept in our guest room.

MIL's SNF approved her for 24 hours of leave and gave her medications.

The camping trip is also at a small cabin with a bathroom, which is shared by 20+ people. It's just a recipe for disaster, but this is what DH chose.

I also call BS What small one bathroom cabin sleeps 20 people. And BS on a SNF giving a “ pass” for the night. Just stop.

I don't call BS because my inlaws are pretty nutty and my BIL's family absolutely would have 20 people to one bathroom. Families can be completely nuts and if your isn't and you have normal inlaws, thank your lucky stars!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. If it wasn’t a memorial trip I would force my husband to stay home and would raise hell about it.
Give him grace since it is his dad who passed. Hang in there- this will all be a memory soon!

How is someone who is medically fragile going camping? That doesn’t make sense to me

Thanks for concluding this completely made up story. It really wasn't very good.
