I think our admin is a hoarder. She usually bids for the same type of items; like how many handbags can you possibly want?!
She also loves all those small, detailed rules. Please put a tag on here and please write this or that in the event of that or this. She also lingers in the front yard when she picks stuff up in the hopes of chatting up the owners. Clearly weird, lonely and with too much time on her hands.

Definitely a lot of hoarders. I noticed when I was posting clothes or junk like candles, the same women were constantly asking for it. It’s really strange

Why on earth does she keep buying the same mixed bag of nuts. Why not buy the kinds you like and then mix it together, instead of picking out all of the pistachios?! That is such weird behavior

Same pp here and now I am cracking up because she just did it again and FOUR people want the big back of pistachios.

Someone else just posted half a sheet cake as well. So bizarre.

1) a large rock from the garden
2) empty cleaned out cake boxes (the ones they sell cakes in)
3) a dirty, broken futon

I live in Arlington and the things given that are worth it (e.g. I've gotten good condition sports equipment, basketball goal, unused golf shirts, and some woman somehow always has new unused full sized beauty products that my daughter loves) FAR surpass the weird items.

empty toilet paper rolls
really old newspapers
open and eaten food
used make up
the already addressed free envelopes you get with bills
broken appliances
USED adult "toys" for the bedroom
used fill from dirty old pillows
broken microwaves (this is an often one)

I really don't know why people have such a hard time throwing broken things out. I'm thrifty for sure but there is next level stuff here.

Used deodorant. Only used once on “clean pits”. Had multiple takers.

Just this week, someone was given away half eaten Wagyu Steak Tartare.

A few years back, a neighbor offered a half-eaten ham. Open/partially eaten food should not be given away due to health concerns. Food pantries would never accept open/half-eaten products.

I know my "#MomBoss" friend always snags any half/partially used makeup, perfume, lotions, etc. and resells them online. That's all she focuses on and makes good side money hustle. People started to catch on that she was a reseller so she asked some of us to claim things when we saw them come up. Hard pass from me.

This is an expensive area. I'm not surprised.

Used menstrual cups. Bit too much for me lol but generally we have a very kind and generous BN group.
