All my doctors were pretty dismissive of the idea that we would identify a "root cause." I spent so much energy trying to figure out what was causing it but in the end there was no clear answer and my hair grew back. From what I have read online that's a typical story. Sometimes people lose hair after a virus, a traumatic event, or major weight loss, but often it's for no discernable reason.
How long did it take?
It started growing quickly in response to the steroid shots but obviously takes a while to reach the length of the other hair. Also, some grew in white initially and later wet back to being brown (my normal color), so the white hair, though better than nothing, was not ideal, I have actually lost some hair since then but only in spots (fortunately not visible ones) end it always starts regrowing on its own, it’s almost like a seasonal thing of shedding and regrowing.
