Ehh, women in DC aren't really obsessed with wealth and social status. I'm from NYC and spent 6 years living in Miami but I would say DC is comparatively low key that way. Strivers for sure, but DC isn't really a destination for a woman with a HS education looking to hit it rich with a guy the way other cities are. More likely to be a big law associate or lobbyist who is looking for a comparable male equal.

Interesting.

So when a woman in big law or a lobbyist seeks a man with those credentials and money, she is not obsessed with status because she is looking for her "comparable equal". When a woman with a HS education does it, she is obsessed.

Are engineers and accountants making 150K equals to this woman in big law? Or is there a salary and specific grad degree that defines these "comparable equal" men?

Of course a 20 yo looking for money from much older men is a gold digger.
Professional women not wanting to financially support lousy husbands has nothing in common with it. They just stay single till they find it or forever. They don’t fly to Miami to bare their tits to find a man.
Equal means the same income at least and the same intelligence

150K is plenty of income. Anyone focusing solely on men making more than that is obsessed with income and status. One can make good money and still be obsessed with money. And engineers and accountants are just as intelligent as lawyers. So if "comparable" was the goal for these older women, there would be plenty of options in these professions. It's an obsession with money and status. It does not matter if younger women or older women are doing it. Women in general, rich or poor, prefer men with power, money and status. Neither their education level or wealth reduces that preference or "obsession" as you put it.

150k is not enough burrowing capacity or savings to afford a good house in DC; no international vacations; no good cars; no sports like golf or gym memberships . Men making $150k have a very different lifestyle from mine and I don’t want to finance them while in a relationship. They can find a woman making $150k or less. But for some reason men also look for higher earner women in DC.

To the bolded: You know why. It's because everyone loves money. You don't deserve a rich man any more than the pretty girls in Miami chasing older men for it just because you are highly educated and rich. In fact they need the rich man more than you do. 😆

The girls in Miami are used for sex; very few marry these rich men. The men go home to their equally educated well earning wives. Assortative mating is a thing

The wives are the people getting used here. They are stuck with old men who cannot keep their dicks in their pants.

Imagine having all that education and money and ending up sharing your DH's dick with a high school educated woman who cannot keep a conversation.

Comparable equal my foot!

Yes, lot of beautiful women in Miami from Europe and South America.

Good job, tell your son to keep pumping and dumping those hoes.

I am his father, and he tells me that's how it work in Miami. Men use women for sex, and women use men for resources.

Now it makes sense. Low self esteem father with a low self esteem so. Lol

You are so caught up in "using" women that you ignore the probability that these women are actually enjoying the sex too.

You and your son seem to be the only ones getting used. The woman are getting both sex and " resources". Lol

Young guys don't care what prudes think. Their priorities at that age outside of work probably revolve around hanging out with their friends at the beach and banging good looking women. It's a much different scene in Miami. Women are fake for sure, but much better looking than frumpy DC striver women on ozempic.

Give me a break. I was saving money and going on international vacations when I was making $30k 20 years ago which is like 40-50k today.

In which state? I was making 85k 20 years ago in DC and couldn’t afford it

I've had minor plastic surgery myself so I'm not opposed to it, but so many people have no ability to think critically about what it does to a society when women and girls feel enormous pressure over the course of their entire lives to change themselves to fit unreasonable beauty standards, at a level of pressure that they will pay tens of thousands of dollars and undergo risky surgeries just to get others approval.

Do people seriously think it's good for girls to grow up in a toxic stew where they are surrounded by all these images of surgically enhanced bodies and feel that they must do the same?

Do you all have no understanding of the levels of eating disorders, low self-esteem, and mental health issues among teenage girls and adult women, and you are unable to draw a line between unreasonable beauty standards and plastic surgery and the situation we're in?

So many men and women just stupidlly say, as long as you are more beautiful, nothing else matters. This mentality has consequences, for everyone. At the end of the day, no one really feels good about themselves. It's toxic and unhealthy but we have trouble accepting this because, it gives men pleasure to look at an a naturally thin body with fake breasts and butts surgically placed, all sorts of toxins and fillers injected etc

There are beautiful women everywhere. I live in NYC and we have a lot of beautiful women here. How we, I do agree in part of Miami such as the Design district, Breckell etc you will see very beautiful women from all over the world Brazil, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, non White Hispanics, Asians, African Americans etc. I guess some of the women under the knife, but does that make them less beautiful? I mean if they have the money (or someone willing to find them) why not seek higher standard of beauty. We all have one life to live, so let's us make the best of it. If Stacy wants a more beautiful butt, nice lips, nicer nose, higher cheekbones, beautiful teeth, better looking vagina go ahead Stacy. Maybe I am the odd one, If a woman is more beautiful than another woman as a result of plastic surgery then she is more beautiful.

I have friends living there. Very hard for a woman to find a good professional match for LTR. Men are spoilt to the bones and used to change partners. She left to Midwest
