You know why you have to show up with an armful of documents to enroll your kid? Because of people like this mom.
It is stealing and it is wrong and we all pay for it through the taxes for the school, through the people who have to manage all this paperwork and authentication of documents.
There’s right and there is wrong. This isn’t a Jean Valjean situation. She’s taking advantage. It disgusts me how many people don’t care. Letting everything go is how you end up with a crap, every man for himself society.
Turn her in OP.
I suspect that many who ars saying mind your own business are also committing residency fraud.
It is pretty wide spread at our high school, and is contributing to it getting rezoned.
Well I’m not. We live in a desirable MCPS school cluster, and are currently in a huge boundary study that affects half of Montgomery County… and I would never report any child. I don’t want that on my conscience, no matter what the parent has done in the workplace.
Find another punishment that better fits the crime.
If you are MCPS in MARYLAND, you are not a Virginia resident or a Fairfax County residdnt, or someone who pays a dime in state or local taxes to support our schools

Are you daft? MCPS has exactly the same problem. This is what I'm telling you: that despite facing the same issues, I would not report. My kids' school is the one often used by kids living elsewhere. In fact, I know some of them personally. I would never dream of reporting them! Despite the boundaries that will soon be changed.
This isn't a question of which school it is exactly. It's a moral question involving school residency fraud and workplace harassment that could happen anywhere.
My point is that OP should look towards addressing the workplace issues directly. After she reports this family, her workplace meanie is still going to be exactly the same mean person she was before, so what will OP achieve? Just making a child's life harder. You might rejoice because a cheater has been punished, but for OP, her life will stay exactly the same.
Please keep up.

But op knew and didn’t care to report it until the woman was snide with her. So she never had any moral or ethical qualms she felt called to answer for. That’s why reporting now is so lame. It’s just extreme payback for workplace friction. She did not care enough to report before.

Yes.
No they aren't allowed to do this. Just because you work for FCPS doesn't mean your kids get to attend FCPS unless you live in the county.
Bringing your kid to your school is a fcps employee benefit.
The nurse is fine.

Only if there is space and they pay tuition.

+1 We have known several!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So a family will rent or live in McLean and get their kid established in the school district, then they eventually move out beyond Fairfax County but don’t report the move. They just keep driving the kid in.
This is how it happens

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I am going against the grain and saying yes this is extreme for low level bullying. It punishes her children who, if FCPS intervenes, will have to leave their schools. Things like this are not for you or I to handle- I do not think good karma comes to you from lashing out for retribution. If she’s caught, she’s caught, but I wouldn’t want the burden of knowing that I engineered it for petty reasons.
So fraud is ok as long as children benefit from it?
