We caa call it little magnet or sister school idea where 20% comes from high FARMS areas without forcing anyone.

I’m personally supportive of the magnet idea but what happens with the rest of the map?

I have an idea.

Whitman and Churchill take 20% kids from high FARMS areas. 5% can be anyone and 15% has to be FARMS kids. That way idencity of FAMRS kids are protected becasue FARMS and non-FARMS kids are taking the bus together.

20% can be lottery. This way all issues are covered.

Likewise, 20% of Whitman kids are randomly chosen to go to Kennedy

This will create problem. You need to keep the same conditions and let it be voluntary. I don't think many Whitman families will opt for it. Keep it voluntary from both sides. I suspect we will see one way traffic and that will help without forcing anyone.

Goal should be help kids without creating issue for anyone. FARMS kids will benefit by attending Chrichill/Whitman and it will be not forced.

Obviously the BOE is fine with forcibly busing kids they don’t want to go. On long bus rides. It shouldn’t just be poor kids shouldering that burden.

No rich or poor kid should be forced to take a long bus ride. Equity in practice. Voluntary option for all parties.

This would help BOE’s goal of having enough AP kids in every school.

it's voluntary.

Pretty sure FARMS stays is protected under FERPA. If they’re the only kids on the bus, won’t everyone know they are on FARMS?

There won't be a list published anywhere about who takes the bus. Kids already know who gets free lunch.

Why?

So kids aren’t stuck with the same behavioral issues kid all four years.

Nah, that problem happens in all HS. Nothing unique about Churchill or Whitman so allow something different.

It won't be compulsary. Families can decide.

It’s not like they are the only ones on buses since other kids ride buses to Whitman.

Maybe.
