Tough balance between winning games and trying to show the players to the coaches. The really top teams have little disparity between too many players. The bigger issue is the older the kids get, the less teamwork there is as they try to show off. It takes a strong coach to have a quick hook on selfish players and I've yet to seen one in this area. The teams need to realize winning games advances them in the tournament and more coaches watch the winner's bracket than the consolation games.

Too Many! It will hit 30 by the 3rd summer. Doesn't matter how good you are at DCE they play equally or almost depending on the game situation. The problem with bloated roster it doesn't allow for boys to get in a rhythm and then they press too much. They will try and force things and hero ball will creep in. It can get messy and disjointed quickly. It also brings drama and discontent. This is not rec and it cost more then rec. Buyer beware!

You either except it or find a lesser club where you organically will be the top dawg and play average tournaments but also keep in mind the HS team situation as well. In the end DCE will get you the eyeballs and your HS as well so you need to look at the whole picture going forward.

I've never heard of them, but from their web page they look like a fairly professional but more low key program for kids who want to play summer and fall tournaments. They don't play in HoCo, which is interesting, because there are HoCo divisions for all levels of play so they could do it if they wanted.
I am guessing that maybe it caters to kids who play baseball or soccer and lacrosse is their second sport.
I would be interested to know why someone says it is horrendous; it looks to me like a good alternative to the B teams of NL and ML.

The DMV Rebels do play in Hoco, most often in the same brackets as the B teams for the blue blood programs. 2030A (went 4-3 this year), 2031AAA (5-2), 2033AA (7-1). Don’t seem to have a team at each grade level but they’re there. Older teams aged out of HoCo appear to struggle based on their record and rankings from usclublax.com
