Disagree. I’d like the “didn’t get in” posters to stop. I’d like the attacks on people (eg, not getting enough attention, OP?) to stop. If you want a more useful forum, you would stop.

It's understandable to 'boost' schools one likes, attended, or whose child attends, but what's up with the obsessive trolling? Obviously a mental problem.

It’s a standard snarky response when someone offers bad faith, random criticism of an elite school. Basically it’s alleging sour grapes or an axe to grind.

Did you REALLY need that explained to you?

I have a different take. While I agree that it’s a ridiculously immature response, I think it most often comes from the typical hyper competitive braggy parents who think rankings and prestige are the only things that matter. They cannot accept that some kids may actually choose not to apply to certain schools. So if anyone shares that their kid didn’t like school x for any reason they refuse to believe it wasn’t their top choice and that they’re just bitter.
