She does a really good job and I would pay her more than that if she asked for it.
I have curly hair and finding someone who knows how to work with it has been a lifelong dream.
I hope you tip very well.

TELL ME WHY I PAY THIS!

I am asking because I was just charged what I would consider a pretty insane amount for this (and this wasn’t at a fancy salon). But I haven’t even ever been charged this much at the fanciest salons.
Obviously it varies but I would really like to get other’s opinions.

I only go to fancy salons when I need something complicated/color etc…

I was charged $120. And yes for a woman. Took her 10 minutes.
Did they wash your hair?
Yup. I have fairly short hair. maybe 15 minutes tops. the actual cutting probably took 2 minutes. it was literally a trim.
Price sounds in the range. I'm sure it took more than 2 mins. It's not their fault you have an easy cut. Trims are the same price.
Most salons don’t price the complexity of a cut. A haircut is a haircut whether it takes 10 min or 40. If you don’t think you need a fancy salon to do your trim go to a hair cutter.
+1. My stylist charges $85 for a haircut that takes her a full hour to do.

Outrageous! I would ask to see a breakdown of that price.
She works for herself. I guess she can charge whatever she wants. But I won’t use her again obviously. And yeah I get that it’s an easy cut. I have gotten this same cut in many places and even in the nicest places haven’t been charged that much. But lesson learned.
