Despite this, Democrats still pushed him as a candidate because winning was all that mattered. Then he had his catastrophic stroke and Democrats, including many of you here on DCUM, attacked as "ableist," "fascist," and "MAGA" anyone who pointed out that this addled man with a history of violence was in no shape to be in the Senate.
Now that he isn't towing the party line, Democrats suddenly pretending to have just "discovered" that this impaired, aggressive man with poor judgment is who they already knew he was.
Keep him or get rid of him, but don't pretend you didn't know full well who he was and don't pretend any kind of principle beyond punishing apostates for not voting lockstep is at work here.
The Democratic base might develop amnesia on cue, but everyone else sees how Democrats ignored every red flag to put a dangerous person in the Senate.

Here's a video of it - I listened, didn't watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mefVUdAlX4
I hope he does the right thing and moves aside for someone else to run.
I think his reckless driving alone is grounds for losing his job.
At a minimum, he seems to be putting his family’s lives at risk.
Are you joking? How many DUIs does Pete Hegseth have? And domestic violence accusations? And yet Trump appointed him as Sec Def AFTER these incidents because he looks good chattering on Fox.
DP. Can you explain how this relates to Fetterman? Are you saying Fetterman should be allowed to continue unchecked because Hegseth is?
At least Fetterman was popularly elected. Nobody elected Hedghog's dumb drunken ass.

Seriously don’t bother having an option until you take the time to listen to it.
I’ve always liked Fetterman, but that interview was absolutely a deal breaker. He is very obviously cognitively impaired. Pennsylvania needs to make a different choice when his term is up. It’s not about left or right, the guy isn’t well. The state isn’t being served at this time.
Actually it is all about right vs left. If he was a trumpist no republican would call for him to step down or not run again.
The Republicans specialize in running dementia patients and social rejects for public office. Dems usually hold themselves to a higher standard. Fetterman isn’t the same anymore, and that’s a real shame. I wouldn’t say it’s a bait and switch because no one can help a stroke or what comes after, but if this is what he is now, Pennsylvia Dems are right to be looking for a more effective alternative to better represent their interests.
Sigh. There are so many examples of Democratic politicians who should have retired or never run at all due to mental degradation. They were controlled by their staffs and did the bidding of the party.
I mean, the current President is actively deranged and sundowning in plain sight, and the supposedly “all there” Congress is doing his bidding while the sycophants applaud his moxy.
I’m more concerned about who has the nuclear codes right now to care about some elderly congressman.

He’ll fight to keep his seat, even if he can’t even string together a coherent sentence without his AIPAC handler putting a card in front of him to read from. Thomas Massie, one of the most intelligent and principled members of Congress, describes it best …

That video of Massie describing what AIPAC does was long but eyeopening. Everyone should watch it.
