Lina Khan - FTC chair, 2021-2025

She’s pretty unpopular and really doesn’t do much today.

The bolded is not accurate. Ohio University is one of several others which offer tutorials.

I like that all these schools fly under the radar of trump tbh. our kid's college years and trumps reign overlap -- so I guess we have to think about this.

I mean it’s the best lac, but there’s a reason it has no prestige…it’s great and all to be able to pay for good professors to teach, but real universities do actual research that helps people. The LAC model is pretty easy to ride the ranks, because it just requires rich people and economics degrees (look at the rise of CMC in past years).

Best LAC in the US. Hands down.

What prestige? Nobody outside of the upper crust tiger moms even community even knows what it is?

I can't imagine a prestige difference between Williams, Amherst and Swarthmore.

This. The Williams booster has been all over threads, unhinged.

And if you were in any of their fields you absolutely would have. That’s my point.

I think it’s more that Williams grads are famous in their field. Ordinary people might not know the names Billy Finn, Tom Krens, Michael Beschloss, Frederick Wiseman, Steve Case, Jay MacInerney, John Sayles, Toby Cosgrove, or Herb Allen, but people who work in those respective fields sure do. I didn’t attend, nor did ny kids, but there’s not really a question that Williams produces a disproportionate number of top-of-their-field alums.
