What?

Makes sense. Amazon Haul is their version of AliExpress or Alibaba and their way to try to combat the 3rd party Chinese sellers on their site.

For those not familiar, Amazon Haul is a newish section on the app where you can buy extremely cheap Chinese products. I just brought it up in my Amazon app:

Stanley dupe for $5.99, the enclosed makeup brush holder that has been going viral recently is $8.99 on there, 15 kitchen dish clothes for $6.99, 115-piece screwdriver & socket set for $6.99, Lululemon dupe leggings for $4.99, 5-piece Bluey kid's PJs for $7.99, etc. You get the idea.

No one needs any of that.

Need? No, but 'murkins LOVE it.

Here's what I'm not understanding about this whole brouhaha...

So, the widget from China you bought on Amazon last year cost $20. Now, with the tariffs, it's going to cost you $50. One way or another, the price is going to be sharply higher, right? While I agree that the reason (import fee) should be itemized, the price increase is still going to be obvious, isn't it?

"President Trump said the other countries would pay the tariffs, but guys, I...I...it's not how it's working out. It's not, and I don't know what to do." Basically, several cars he's repairing have incoming parts that now have tariffs attached to them. He must eat the cost of these tariffs because the jobs are insurance repairs and he's already been paid by the insurance companies.

"I'm losing money. It's going to cost me to repair these vehicles. How am I going to survive? I can't survive paying to fix other people's cars."

I did feel bad for him because he 100% believed Trump that others would pay those tariffs. He claims to understand how import fees work but kept saying over and over "Trump said they'd pay not us" "Trump said" "Trump said".

I don’t feel bad for them at all. Five minutes of research would have taught them who was going to pay the tariffs. This is survival of the fittest, now, I hope that he goes out of business.

Yup, sorry not sorry for all of these ignorant f***ks who voted to hurt other people. As the kids say on Reddit, have the day your vote deserves!

By adding a separate line item. You think Amazon can’t figure out how much more an item costs due to tariffs?

Its literally just a number submitted by the seller.

Huh? Amazon runs on those Chinese sellers. Amazon isn't fighting them.

Amazon Haul is the portal for those Chinese sellers. It's an effort to make them look better instead of KEZQT brand.

Something to remember is that a third of eligible voters straight up didn’t vote, and even some people who do vote are pretty checked out and apathetic. I have family members who told me they don’t even bother watching the news because it doesn’t matter. Putting tariffs fees up while online shopping disrupts the apathetic.

If you don't vote you might as well not exist politically

I know many small and mid-size business owners who export goods from both China and EU, and am one of them. Most of us know very well who pay the tariffs. In fact, I got my first 'reciprocal'* tariff bill yesterday. Unfortunately, my lack of ignorance does not make the situation any better. Guess I'm lucky that my goods come from EU, so my product costs went up 'only' by 10/20% overnight. That amount I will add to the end price and hope that the customers will pay the higher price.

If I'd be importing from China, guess I would have to close my small business, as I don't think customers would swallow that price change for most products.

* It actually says that on the bill. If you repeat the lie enough times, plenty of people will believe it.

The problem is that would lower the value of your business because you make the same dollar amount profit as before, but at a higher cost of goods. This actually means your profit is lower—the cost to make the same money is more. You need to charge more than the tariff

I don't feel bad for these people. They willfully ignored other sources and people who stated that this is not how tariffs work. They heard what they wanted to hear.

Anonymous wrote:This is a breaking story. The White House on Tuesday slammed Amazon for reportedly planning to display the cost of President Donald Trump’s tariffs next to the total price of products on its site.

“This is hostile and political act by Amazon,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a press briefing.

As an aside, I was recently adding groceries to my Wegmans app list and a notice popped up on the app after I added one item telling me that it will cost 10% more due to tariffs. This is a great idea and all retail companies should follow suit so that consumers can know what the real impact of the tariffs is.

Press Barbie needs to hush-the only hostile political act I see is MAGA.

Wrong. Trump's orders. Everyone knows all this crap comes from China anyway.

+1 Karoline Leavitt didn't even know what a tariff was--it showed when she talked about it in a press conference. Hopefully she has learned by now. Good for Amazon to display costs transparency. Sorry the Trumpers want the private sector to hide the damaging effects of their crap policies.
