This is true actually. My Dad has a PhD in physics. He could not get on my level when I needed help with algebra. He just couldn't break it down and explain it. Is he gifted in math? 100%. Could he teach lower level math? NOPE!! To him it was second nature to understand this stuff.
Exactly this. It's often why great players, like Michael Jordan, make terrible coaches. They just can't understand why someone has to ask how to do something so "easy" or why another player can't do what they are telling them to do.
