or he knew a school bully was involved and wanted to make it home to his kids. Expecting teachers who parents disparage 24-7 to jump in to help your brats is rich!

IMO if teachers walking by or not check g on students they 1) are afraid to interfere, 2) see it too often in are immune, 3) don’t care too much about these students.

Sure, I understand that but to nonchalantly walk past, literally throw up your arm to take a pic and keep walking is awful. He doesn’t stop, say anything, do anything. No instructions whatsoever. No “stop”, no calls out for the SRO or anyone else. It’s a male teacher, with a mustache and large belly, it’s definitely a teacher.
Then when the video shows the student who is stabbed there is one, ONLY one adult standing there and he’s just yelling “ambulance”. He’s not kneeling down to see if kid is alive, or ok, or applying pressure to stop the bleeding. It’s not even clear who he’s talking to, all the kids walking past? No one is in control and several kids are laughing.
I thought cell phones in Virginia public schools were banned during the school day.
This is why they should NOT be. I want my kid to be able to call me when this madness happens to tell me they're safe.

What a horror show. Reid's email references the "suspect" and the "victim", the video showed the kid who got stabbed repeatedly punching the other student in the back of the head while he was on the ground, which brings the concept of self defense into play.

I CAN'T believe we live in a society where a teacher just walks on by. I understand that their life is important and they don't get paid enough but come on. Say STOP, make noise, re-direct. They don't have to break up the fight but they can try and diffuse it before it escalates more. Just try. They are supposed to be the adult and model some respectable behavior. And for no one to render aid. This could be the difference between life and death by having someone stop the flow of blood. It's absoultely disgusting that we could stand there and watch, maybe take a video, and then do nothing? As a society we can't even render aid? I saw the video. I hope the boys get through this, my heart goes out to them.

NP. I assume teachers also have a good idea of who are in gangs etc. I don’t think it’s reasonable for teachers who are unarmed to be expected to break up knife fights.
I don't expect a teacher to get in the middle, but I would expect him to yell at the kids to "cut it out!" I'd also expect more than just ambling across the hallway.

There was no knife fight when the teacher strolls by and snaps a photo. Maybe if he had said something there wouldn’t have been a knife fight later. No one posted that the poster should have inserted himself into a knife fight. In your teacher training, do they tell you to snap a photo and just walk away. Like NBD. If a kid gets stabbed later on, so what??? Because even after the kid was stabbed and laying in a pool of his own blood, a teacher just stands over him, and does nothing. He could have bled out.
