These elements are available elsewhere, including the US in shuttered mines, but China owns at least 80% of the processing, so they basically own the supply chain.
Since T-Boy seems to have aggravtaed the rest of the world, not many will be inclined to facilitate his battle with China. And ourt shuttered mines? How many years to make them productive again?

Thanks for posting this 12 year old article about a company that went bankrupt in 2015. Mountain pass does produce a lot of ore, no one is disputing that. They even refine a fair bit. The problem is that although they process a small amount of it, most of it is sent to China for processing. We are still years away from processing the amount we need. It's like we have a bunch of sap and no way to make it into syrup.
