Wegmans and Publix!

Costco. Safeway for smaller trips - the member rewards are actually very beneficial in a way that other stores aren't, because they send you deals for the things you actually buy. So I get discounted produce and dairy items instead of a million coupons for Doritos or packaged stuff we don't keep in the house.

If you're military I've actually grown to love the Ft. Belvoir commissary. The prices are amazing, layout is good, and the ladies who pack the groceries are amazing. You just have to shop carefully as far as expiration dates because they aren't the best about that.

I also like Costco on weekdays. I'm starting to like TJs - one just opened up by us and I'm getting used to it. It doesn't seem the best for our family of 4 with 2 teenage boys, though. Seems geared more towards singles or couples, in terms of packaging sizes. I haven't been impressed with their produce either.

For produce we do a CSA April-December and Whole Foods the rest of the time.

It's a lot of running around to go all of these places, but they all seem to have a different strength.

It used to be until they were.sold and the new ownership fired most of the longtime staff. It used to be so neighborly and fun to shop there.

There’s a Friendship Heights Wegman’s which is good. It isn’t as big as the Germantown on which has the hot food market, but it’s still my favorite grocery store that I can get to easily.

Publix and moms organically. I’m from the south as well- Publix has great quality and price points, moms because I can find local products plus they are clean/small.

I am a transplant from DMV to FL and do not get the love for Publix. I like Giant a lot better somehow.
Miss Wegmans and Lidl terribly.
Costco is not an ordeal down here - lines are a lot shorter, even on weekends. Plus, it has liquor and local produce.

Costco gives me the creeps. Something about the huge floor to ceiling piles of stuff, long lines, not being able to find anything quickly..then seeing the absolute crap people have piled high in the carts. I feel surrounded by hoarders and/or binge eaters. The whole experience grosses me out.

You can't shop only at Costco. We like the fresh salmon and the bakery items. Their bakers always seem to know what they are doing.

Don't go on the weekend if long lines bother you.

TJ. Has nearly everything I need/want, I don’t have to deal with self check out, the employees are efficient, friendly, and competent. The parking lot is small too. I’m not stuck out in the middle of nowhere in a giant lot

That’s on you. I use their app and it gives you the exact location of any item by aisle.
