What if he was having some kind of episode? What if it was a misunderstanding? You think it’s okay for hotel staff to go beat someone up because of some altercation? That’s insane.
I don't think anyone is saying he got what he deserved. They're saying "this sounds like something crazy precipitated the attack, not just a tourist walking to his room getting randomly jumped and beaten to death." And you're the only person suggesting that the attack was perpetrated by hotel staff!
It sounds like he was either falling down drunk or, like you said, having some kind of mental health episode. Whichever it was, it led to him physically assaulting multiple people inside the restaurant before he was kicked out, and then [we don't know what he did after being kicked out, but] when they went to look for him they found his body. The fact that he was a man who was kicked out of a restaurant that same night for spitting on multiple people is relevant to the narrative, not just "MD man".
Does it really sound like that? Mom and Dad let him wander off to the room alone in either of these scenarios while they finished their dinner?
I mean the alternative is that he was normal at dinner, told mom he was going to get his jacket and take a walk, and on the way out/ unbeknownst to his mom/ he spat on the servers. And then, while he was being actively searched for by hotel security, he was found beaten to death. The spitting/ hotel security incident happened prior to him being found dead so it doesn’t sound to me like a cover up. It sounds like he was assaulting people who worked there and then ended up dead not long after. Maybe he approached someone on the beach and tried the same thing and it ended badly. Who knows. But I would believe that his mother might not have seen him spitting on people.
The quote from the story is the mother would not corroborate the spitting. Didn't deny it. Didn't say, he would never. Also hard to believe doing something like this in a restaurant wouldn't attract a lot of attention and could possibly be mixed. I agree your alternative is possible though.
Another alternative is this person behaves this way and mom and dad know it and don't care or are just sick of it and wanted to enjoy the rest of their meal in peace.
I don’t think the spitting happened in the restaurant. The security said they were looking for him because of an incident of spitting on employees I think it happened earlier

"Police said that a post-mortem examination revealed that McAlmont died as a result of drowning.
"Further, police are still awaiting the forensic toxicology analysis, and investigations are ongoing," police said. "That said, foul play is not suspected at this time."
However, the 23-year-old's mother, Michelle McAlmont, told Eyewitness News Bahamas on Tuesday that her son's face looked beaten when authorities showed her his body."
Something VERY weird is going on with this story.
He was went to get a jacket
He didn't come back
Worker said he spit on an employee
Found beaten on the beach foaming from the mouth
Then autopsy says he drown? But washed up nicely on the beach?
Yeah right.
You can choke on water and have foam around your mouth if you are drowning. If for example he inhaled a lot of water , was unconscious on the shore, and the choked / vomited as his lungs were filled with water.
And no one found him for HOURS? A busy beachfront like Atlantis? I still don't buy it.
I could be wrong but I thought it was pretty late into the night that this was happening and the beach was closed? Feel free to correct me.
Then why does the story say he left the dinner table to go get a jacket from the room and never returned? It’s odd that the story seems to be changing.

The islands in the Caribbean are beautiful. For me, Hawaii is not worth the long trip from the east coast. Florida is not attractive at all and it doesn’t have all that paradise island has in one area

We have taken two Disney cruises - with family, not my idea - and for the second one we stayed on the boat instead of going into Nassau. It was lovely, much less crowded and there was plenty to do.

Because heavens to Betsy that YOU would ever want to go on a Disney cruise unless someone else made you do it!
Jerk.
