Wait for Earth Day. If they want to inflict the most pain, why not do it on the day we celebrate the earth?

Yes, they think they're very funny. They're often waiting for particular dates to craft a hilarious narrative about firing thousands of people on that date-- like Valentine's Day, April Fool's Day, etc. I expect something to happen on 4/20 as well.

That's Martial Law Day

Yes, but no layoffs yet of anyone and presumably none are planned!

Why specifically 4/14? Just FS or all usda?

Not sure but that’s the date I heard for Interior too. Or Good Friday is also thrown around as the big RIF day.

Where are you hearing this? Someone on reddit heard Jun 1, but that seems late.

NASA administrators confirmation hearing is Wednesday, so I’m assuming things will start moving (in one way or another) after that. So far three HQ departments were rifed which is a huge hit to quality space policy, but was only about 20 people.

DHS starting it's reorg today. Everyone has a week to take VERA, VSIP, or DRP.

DOGE can’t do that. That will take an act of Congress.

Downsizing FDIC can’t come soon enough

FDIC = Found Dead in Chair.

Have you heard if fdic will offer drp 2.0?

There's a rumor going around online (so take with a grain of salt) to expect cuts to the civilian arm of the Navy on April 15 (day the Titanic sank).

SBA made cuts to its disaster customer service center and because all of the workers are either term or temporary, they placed them into Inactive Status right before the second DRP was offered. This means, no severance at all.

My GF was there 5 years with stellar performance reviews. Her TL had insisted that if cuts were coming, she would warn them. Didn't happen. GF loved her job. The weird thing is they seem to have kept some with far less time and experience under their belts. She worked her ass off and is worried about the people she served everyday.
