Spirit’s partner history with local youth clubs is a record of failures, both for the local clubs and their youth players. Spirit will extract a lot of money and power from these clubs while making big public splashes to create FOMO of missing pro scouting “opportunities.”

Gotham made a concerted effort to scout ECNL national events and invited girls from all over. There are no homegrown rules in NWSL so this is brilliant use of scouting dollars by them. Why only scout the college game, we all know the college game sucks, so get them as HS students and see who is physically and mentally prepared to consider becoming a professional. Spirit will get there but partnering with TSJ and Alexandria are simply to geographic anchor points to have talent IDs thats it.

The Spirit better hope the NWSL doesn't implement a relegation system or they will be playing in the Mid-Atlantic Regional League, or something like that.
